Mahaha Music Video

Overview

Mahaha is a CG animated music video created for Inuit throat-singing duo PIQSIQ, built entirely in Unreal Engine and designed as both a linear music video and an immersive VR experience. The video weaves together the story of two brothers practicing traditional Inuit games with the Inuit folktale of Mahaha, the tickling demon—culminating in a magical journey across the tundra where the boys confront and defeat Mahaha using the skills they've honed. As Creative and Technical Director, I was responsible for every aspect of the digital production, from character design and creation to level design, VFX, and camera work. Working closely with PIQSIQ to bring lesser-known aspects of Inuit culture to a wider audience was both an education and a privilege.
